Up the Tree

  • AboutThere are a lot of things about me that you probably want to know. Unfortunately I know me so I don’t know what’s interesting to you, so I thought I would write down a list of things off the top of my head, based purely on what I can remember about myself. General I was born in Spanish Harlem in 1977 I went to public school all my life I was breast fed My mother is German and father is English They got married in the 70?s England in jeans I was adorable as a child I was a fat kid I am dyslexic I am artsy I have problems asking for what I want Things I love Burgers, except if you put them on an English Muffin. Fuck you too buddy. I prefer beer to just about every other alcoholic beverage, let’s not get fancy here people Music that sounds like the person singing it isn’t pretending they can sing Blunt honesty. Tell me what you’re thinking, guaranteed I’ll make fun of it. Weird English comedies. The Goon Show? yup. I dig incoherent ramblings. Relationships that don’t work. Right?! How much do I love these! Comedy. Got into improvisation…
  • ArchivesI started writing in this weblog after I graduated from college. I heard about blogs from my then grilfriend, who introduced me to the exquisite time wasting activity. The blog was on Blogger and then called Fun Time Tree House where I gained the nickname Funtime Ben.  I now have two blogs, this one and Improvoker.com. Going back through the archives I’m amazed at how hilarious I thought my writing was. It’s wordy, overbearing, and often gramatically incorrect, but it was where I was at 24 so I guess it’s a part of me. You may also notice some strange characters in the body of posts. Things like “Hi there”:http://google.com That’s because of an old formatting system Wordpress used to use in the olden days called textile. I’ve been going through the archives and getting rid of it, but there is still a lot of it left, so pardon that as well. Welcome to my time machine, hope you enjoy.

I am two days away from releasing the next TUTT, so as a peace offering – how about a fresh YouTube video of me? I know it’s not a TUTT, but it’s in addition to TUTT.

I’m working out a sound issue with a new episode, but in a few days you have an hour long TUTT. Normally I wouldn’t warn you in advance, but this editing is pissing me off and I wanted to let you all know there is a present coming for you soon.

It’s one of those sad truths that you can only juggle so much in your life… And juggle I do, with my improv training, working, and socializing my time is all but evaporated. My personal life is a disaster, my health is failing, and tracks up the tree… well you know how that’s been going.

Sadly this has been the happiest I’ve been in months.

What this all means for you is that the future of TUTT is a little in the air. I don’t want to stop recording and I’m not, but I have no time for the show right now. I don’t want to keep you all in limbo, but it’s all I got right now. I really adore all of you wonderful TUTTers and hope this isn’t a deal breaker.

Congratulation on the new baby, house, tribal tattoo, or computer. If that doesn’t cover it, let me know.

    Your Daily Horoscope – SAGITTARIUS
    May 3, 2007

Females in your immediate environment appear to thwart, interfere, demand, or simply be unreasonably uncooperative toward you. Other people’s idiosyncrasies, personalities, prejudices, or subjective judgments grate against you at this time also, especially when they clash with your own.

This is so right on it’s scary. I want a pacifier and some chocolate!

Josiah’s been bugging me to put it up, so here it is: a new post. Since Josiah is so excited – why doesn’t Josiah do the notes?

I urge you all to bug him… constantly.

    Love,
    Funtime Ben
