Wednesday Slump Question

Fried Ice cream from our local Mexican restaurant

This one comes from _Diane_ who asks:.

bq. If you were stranded on a desert isle and you could only have three flavors of ice cream for the rest of your life, which ones would they be?

(And yes we are aware of the logistics of refrigeration and expiration on a desert isle, but we don’t care.)

(And no we don’t mean “dessert isle.”)

    # Ben & Jerry’s Coffee with Espresso Beans in it

unless of course we’re talking homemade… then it’s

    # Vanilla Poppyseed
    # Grilled Peaches
    # Chai Latte

  2. Green tea, French Vanilla, and Mango Mochi.

  3. Plain and simple: all I want is chocolate, cookie dough, and chocomocha.

mint chocolate chip, breyers vanilla (the one with the flecks in it), oh crap. I got stuck after the 2nd choice. I can't think of a third. Damn my lactose intolerance.

  5. The older I get the more I wonder what is wrong with me – I don't care for ice cream. But if we're talkin cookies, Oh I can tear up some cookies.

  6. Neopolitan (ha–getting three for the price of one there), homemade peach, and the peppermint kind they put out around xmas.

  7. I don't even know where to start. Ok, Beth: where do you get the special peppermint kind at Christmas??? Wow. Naaman, I'm worried. Green tea? Are you sure? I love green tea ice cream as a special choice, but for ever and ever? You sure are deep, bro. Bird: I am right up your alley, pal. My 3 are mint choc. chip, vanilla (breyers is the bomb), and butter pecan. I have a thing for butter pecan. I know it's an old person flavor, but it's right up there with coffee and black cherry. This poll presents some of the hardest choices I ever had to make, but there it is. Glovia: let's talk cookies.

  8. I get peppermint ice cream at any ole grocery store around xmas. It's everywhere!

  9. peppermint ice cream is as gross, and possibly even grosser, than cinnamin ice cream. blech.

my three: vanilla, mint chocolate chip, hazelnut gelato. is gelato cheating?

  10. Hell no gelato isn't cheating, listen if I was going to be sent to a desert island and I wanted me some hazelnut gelato, they best to have a tub on hand or a can of whoop-ass shall be opened.

I'm a big fan of mint chocolate chip, so peppermint seems as though it would totally be my shit. Cinnamon, although not in my everyday rotation, is damn fine on a hot slice of apple pie. Visualize that flavor combo!

    My selection:

    # Mint Chocolate Chip
    # Breyers Natural Vanilla (the one with the flecks in it)
    # Chocolate Chocolate Chip (plays well with the above two)

As for cookies, there is no cookie questions this week, but check in next week for our next Wednesday Question(TM) and we'll see if we can't get you on another deserted island with some baked goods soon.

My favorite place to get ice cream was at this chain in Okinawa: Blue Seal.
    http://www.blueseal.co.jp/main.htm

They had the best flavors. Here are some of the flavors (thank you Babelfish translator!!):

-Sugarcane (SOOO….good. It would definitely be my #3 choice that I was missing above.)
    -Chocolate Cookie
    -Rum Rasin
    -Blueberry Ripple
    -Strawberry Cheesecake
    -Caramel Apple

Not sure what this is, but it doesn't sound so good: "Neo poly- tongue". Diane, I deliberated over choosing Butter Pecan as my thirt, but I just couldn't commit to it. It's too heavy for me to eat often. But!, in a moment of PMS-fueled food insanity last week, I ate 4 scoops of Butter Pecan ice cream covered in melted PURE butter and brown sugar. It was heaven.

  12. Bird, no worries. I'll share my B.P. w/ you.
